Syracuse Showing Interest In 2016 Guard
Syracuse has began to show interest in 2016 point guard Howard Washington. Washington, a 6'2" sophomore from Canisius, NY, is rated as the 10th best PG in the 2016 class, per Scout.com. Howard plays his high school ball for Canisius High School, near Buffalo, NY. The Crusaders are currently 19-2, and ranked second in the state for class A.
When I spoke with Howard this morning, he confirmed Syracuse has been in contact and shown interest. He said, "Cuse has had contact with me between Coach Hopkins and Coach Autry, so I would say a good amount of attention." When asked about his potential interest with the Orange, "I love Syracuse. I've wanted to attend Syracuse University since I was a child, so I do have a lot of interest."
"I am also up to 8 offers," Howard continued, "Virginia Tech, University of Virginia, Boston University, Boston College, Charlotte University, Canisius College, University at Buffalo, and University of Dayton." Other schools showing interest include: Texas, West Virginia, Cornell, Bucknell, George Washington and Ohio University. He has not yet received an offer from Syracuse.
I'm very high on Washington. I believe when he graduates, he'll be widely considered one of the best guards in the 2016 class. The Orange are putting themselves in good position, but it is still very early in his recruitment.
