*UPDATED* Keita Misses Practice, Questionable For Pittsburgh
**Update** (2/11/14) 3:30pm ET
Senior C Baye Moussa Keita did not practice for a second straight day, but will travel with the team to Pittsburgh. Head athletic trainer Brad Pike told Mike Waiters of Syracuse.com that Keita has made "significant improvements" and said that he is "very encouraged." Keita remains questionable for tomorrow night's game vs. No. 25 Pittsburgh, but has not yet been ruled out. Whether Keita plays on Wednesday or not, expect Jerami Grant to get some time at center for the Orange. Rakeem will also need to step up, and stay out of foul trouble for Syracuse to be successful.
After injuring his right knee in yesterday's win over Clemson, Baye Moussa Keita was held out of practice today. As Syracuse prepares for their toughest road test of the season, Keita's status for Wednesday still remains in question.
Boeheim said after yesterday's game that "We don’t have any ideas, but we hope that it wasn’t too bad, and that we can get him back quickly." If Keita isn't ready to go on Wednesday, expect Jerami Grant to play the middle of the zone when Rakeem is out. Also, expect extended minutes from freshman F Tyler Roberson, who played only 7 minutes yesterday.
With Rakeem Christmas being the only current healthy center on the roster, he's aware his role has increased substantially. Christmas has committed 16 fouls in the last 4 games, which won't cut it if Keita isn't in the rotation. The junior center is aware of his foul trouble and intends to improve on it, "I got to watch the way I'm doing things," Christmas said, "and try not to pick up stupid fouls, make better decisions. You can't force anything."
There should be an update tomorrow on whether or not Baye Moussa Keita will travel with the team for Wednesday's game at No. 25 Pittsburgh. Tyler Ennis and Jerami Grant both have said they expect Baye Keita to play on Wednesday.
